Radiesse The Woodlands

Radiesse_dermal_fillersPatients who struggle with the early signs of aging and sun damage, like wrinkles, may choose to undergo a treatment with Radiesse in Houston. Under the care of Houston plastic surgeon Dr. Gill, these troublesome lines and depressions can be eradicated with the injectable filler Radiesse.

If You’re Considering Radiesse in Houston

Radiesse is an injectable filler comprised of calcium-based microspheres that when injected beneath the surface of your skin, provide necessary scaffolding and support. This means depressions in the skin, like wrinkles, are filled and appear smoother.

Individuals who are 18 or older and are nonsmokers are often prime candidates for treatment with Radiesse. The Radiesse injectable filler is FDA approved to treat almost any wrinkle, but may also be used to for:

  • nasolabial folds
  • facial contouring
  • facial augmentation
  • marionette lines

What to Expect in Treatment

When Dr. Gill is ready to begin your Radiesse treatment, your skin will be cleansed and the injection site will be carefully chosen. Topical lidocaine or an ice pack may be applied to the treatment site to increase your comfort. Using a special technique that may include threading or crosshatching, Dr. Gill will inject the solution at the site of the depression, filling it. The correction will appear immediately, but Dr. Gill may gently massage the site to ensure proper placement of the product.

Recovering from Radiesse Treatment

After your Radiesse treatment, you may experience some redness or swelling, which can be alleviated with the application of an ice pack. These side effects are temporary and will soon dissipate. You should avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after your treatment.

When any swelling has gone down, you will be able to experience the full wrinkle-reducing effects of your Radiesse treatment. The benefits of this injectable filler may last on average a year, but may last up to 14 months. After 16-18 months, many patients choose to return for follow-up treatments to maintain the effect.
