Dr. Gill will first carefully mark the areas for injection. Then with a fine needle, the filler will be administered at the planned injection sites. Injections add volume to specific areas of the lips, while the doctor takes extra care to preserve the natural lip borders. The material is then massaged to ensure proper contour and to help prevent the formation of lumps.

Recovering from Lip Augmentation

Though the road to recovery from lip augmentation is not strenuous, it is important that know how to take care of the area to ensure positive results. Minimize movement of the lips for the first 24 hours or so after treatment. You can expect some mild discomfort and swelling for the first few hours after treatment, and some mild bruising that can last as long as a week. If your symptoms worsen, or you develop other side effects, please get medical help immediately.

The results of lip augmentation should last between 3-6 months; future treatments are necessary to maintain the appearance of full lips as the body metabolizes injectable materials over time.
